WIDES (Will of Destitute in Society) is a non –profit-making community based organization formed to serve the youth orphans in Nyakach constituency of Nyanza province and Kibera slums in Nairobi Kenya.. After deeply analyzing the problems facing the youth orphans in these two areas, WIDES realized that almost all of them stem from poverty. It ascertained that poverty in the area is a complex issue requiring a multidimensional approach and there is no uniform solution to its eradication. Because its reduction is pivotal to sustainable development in the area, including the improvement of the living standard of the poor orphaned youth, WIDES directs its attention and resources to poverty challenges in all the villages in Nyakach constituency and Kibera slums. It therefore initiated capacity building and income generating programmes in these areas so as to combat the problem of poverty and bring hope again in the faces of the poor orphans.
